We are currently working on a number of initiatives to engage with kids. When the provincial gov't rolled out the blue box program decades ago, classroom programming played a key part in shifting behaviour in thousands of homes. We believe that children can play an important part in helping families become bear smart and avoiding bear attractants at home.

Brick-built mini bears

We recently created hundreds of Mini Bear Kits, using LEGO® brand pieces. This kit is a quick, easy build for ages roughly 6 and up. We will be using these kits in conjunction with classroom programming and to give away at events.

LEGO animation - Coming Soon

We are working on a short LEGO animated film to connect with kids and demonstrate some of the dangers of introducing human foods to bears. Check back soon...

Find the food that could attract bears - Colouring sheet

Download this great colouring sheet, featuring a brick-built bear and cub wondering through a yard filled with food that could attract a bear. Challenge kids to find and colouring in all those items.  This colouring sheet was made to accompany the LEGO® mini bear and is included in each kit.

The colouring sheet will print best on legal-size 8.5x14 paper, but letter-size works as well.

BearSmart.com has great classroom resources for use with various age groups.
